Locations & Directions
Which location is right for me?

Both Inertia Fitness Co. locations provide the same high standard of coaching, personalized programming, and client experience.

North Charlotte (Northlake/Huntersville): our newest facility, featuring brand-new equipment, additional training space, and expanded amenities. Located just 10 minutes from Uptown, it’s ideal for those commuting between Huntersville and Charlotte. If you prefer a spacious, open gym environment with plenty of room to train, IFC North is likely the best fit for you.

Uptown Charlotte: our original studio and the heart of Inertia Fitness Co. Conveniently located just outside Uptown Charlotte, it’s perfect for those living in the city or South Charlotte. If you’re looking for a more intimate, boutique-style training experience, our Uptown location may be the perfect fit.

Both locations feature everything you need for effective strength training, including squat racks, cable machines, turf and sled areas, and most importantly, Charlotte’s best coaching team.

Where are you located?

Getting Started
What is the Intro Session?

Our complimentary Intro Session is an opportunity for us to learn about you and determine the best path toward your goals.

1. Body Composition Assessment. We’ll begin with a Styku 3D body scan to establish your starting point, including body fat percentage, lean muscle mass, measurements, posture analysis, weight, and more.

2. Movement Assessment. We’ll guide you through several basic movement patterns to assess mobility, stability, strength, and overall movement quality.

3. Personalized Game Plan. We’ll review everything we learned and provide a customized plan designed specifically for your goals, lifestyle, and starting point.

Is the Intro Session free?

Yes. The Intro Session is completely complimentary. Many facilities charge for assessments and consultations, but we believe finding the right coaching fit should be risk-free. Consider it a test drive before making an investment in your health and fitness.

Personal Training
How long are training sessions?

All personal training sessions are 60 minutes long. We’ve found this is the ideal amount of time to properly warm up, complete an effective workout, and finish with any necessary recovery work without feeling rushed.

What does a typical session look like?

1. Warm-Up & Movement Preparation: a personalized warm-up designed to improve mobility, activate key muscle groups, and prepare your body for training.

2. Strength Training & Main Workout: exercises carefully selected based on your goals, experience level, mobility, and current fitness level.

3. Recovery & Accessory Work: accessory exercises, conditioning, mobility work, or recovery-focused movements to support long-term progress.

Are your personal trainers certified?

Absolutely. Our coaches hold nationally recognized certifications, advanced continuing education credentials, and many have college degrees in exercise science or related fields. Beyond certifications, our team participates in ongoing education, coaching development, and weekly staff training.

Do I choose my trainer or do you match me with one?

Either option works. If you’ve already identified a coach you’d like to work with (see trainers here), you’re welcome to request them directly. If you’re unsure, we’ll match you with the coach whose expertise, personality, schedule, and coaching style best align with your goals.

What about nutrition?

Nutrition guidance is included with every training membership. While we stay within our professional scope of practice, all of our coaches are trained to help clients build sustainable nutrition habits that support their goals. For additional accountability and habit coaching, our Hybrid Coaching program offers even more comprehensive guidance through the Inertia Fitness Co. app.

What if I have an injury?

Many of our clients begin training with existing injuries, chronic pain, movement limitations, or previous surgeries. Our coaches have experience working with ACL injuries, meniscus tears, shoulder injuries, hip and back pain, post-surgical rehabilitation, and more. While we do not replace medical professionals, we can often modify exercises, work around limitations, and implement corrective exercise strategies. When appropriate, we also collaborate with healthcare providers and physical therapists.

Can I work out at the gym on my own?

No. Inertia Fitness Co. is a private personal training facility and does not offer open gym memberships or unsupervised gym access. Our facilities are designed specifically for coached training sessions. In addition to one-on-one personal training, we also offer Partner Training, Small Group Personal Training, and select group-style workouts and community events throughout the year.

Hybrid & Online Coaching
What's the difference between personal training, hybrid coaching, and online coaching?

Personal Training takes place in one of our facilities with a coach guiding you through every workout. Ideal for hands-on coaching, accountability, and in-person exercise instruction.

Online Coaching gives you a customized workout and nutrition plan that you complete independently, with guidance, accountability, and ongoing support through our coaching app, plus regular check-ins and coaching calls.

Hybrid Coaching combines the best of both worlds: in-person coaching plus customized workouts, nutrition coaching, habit tracking, and accountability through the app.

How does the app work?

Our coaching app is the hub for your training, nutrition, accountability, and communication with your coach.

Customized Workouts: personalized workouts with exercise videos, sets, reps, rest periods, and detailed instructions, plus workout history and personal records.

Nutrition Coaching: customized calorie and macronutrient targets. Track nutrition in the app or connect MyFitnessPal. We can also create customized AI-powered meal plans with recipes, grocery lists, and portion recommendations.

Habit Tracking: daily steps, water intake, sleep, and other behaviors that support your goals.

Direct Coach Communication: message your coach through the app using text or voice messaging.

Wearable Integration: connect Apple Watch, Fitbit, Garmin, and other wearables to automatically sync activity data.

Do I need a gym membership to use the app?

Not necessarily. If your goals require access to strength training equipment, we may recommend joining a gym or training at one of our facilities. However, we can also create effective workouts designed for home gyms, apartments, hotels, travel, bodyweight training, or cardio-based fitness goals. Your program will be built around the equipment and resources available to you.

How do I know if hybrid or online coaching is right for me?

We recommend starting with an Intro Session so we can better understand your goals, experience level, and needs. In general: Personal Training is best for those who need hands-on coaching and accountability. Hybrid Coaching is ideal for individuals who want both in-person coaching and support outside the gym. Online Coaching works best for motivated individuals who are comfortable training independently but still want expert guidance.

Can I track my own workouts in the app?

Absolutely. We encourage clients to log workouts, nutrition, habits, body weight, progress photos, and other metrics within the app. The more data we have, the better we can identify trends, make adjustments, and help you achieve your goals more efficiently.
